Emily Hale
I am currently a Certification Engineer for Collins Aerospace in Winston Salem, NC. I work on commercial aircraft seats. After graduating Georgia Tech, I was part of the Margaret Ingels Engineering Development Program at Raytheon Technologies. During this program, I completed four assignments across the business working on a variety of aerospace products. Margaret Ingels was the first woman to receive a professional degree of Mechanical Engineer, did a lot of work in the development of air conditioning, and a great role model that aligns with the mission of PWFI.
The support I received from PWFI, allowed me to study abroad and take part in undergraduate research whilst I was at Georgia Tech. These experiences undoubtedly helped me to become the engineer I am today and will continue to impact me as I continue my career.

With the help of the Possible Woman Foundation International (PWFI) scholarship I was able to complete my Master’s from Georgia Tech in Building Construction and pursue my career goal as a project manager in the construction industry.
Since my graduation in 2017 I’ve been employed at the Planning, Design, and Construction department at Emory University’s. As a project manager at Emory University, I’ve had the privilege to oversee the completion of numerous projects that enrich and improve the campus for the past 5 years. One of my most successful projects was renovating one of the existing classrooms at the Goizueta Business School into the Delta Leadership Hub. The hub serves as a focal point for various leadership initiatives and business school events and was a major collaboration between Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and the Delta Air Lines Foundation.
On personal level, since being PWFI scholarship recipient, I married my now husband and we welcomed a sweet baby girl, Sofia. Sofia will turn one in October, and we are already teaching her to be a confident and independent woman.
